BROWNBACK CONGRATULATES WICHITA AS 'ALL-AMERICA CITY'

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today applauded the city of Wichita, Kansas, for being one of ten cities granted the All-America City award. "I congratulate the city of Wichita on this recognition, and I'm proud that Wichitans are recognized for their ability to work together to tackle the challenges they face, particularly in these tough economic times," said Brownback. "I applaud the leadership of Wichita who represented the city at this competition."

This is the fourth time Wichita received this national honor. Wichita was one of ten cities chosen from the 32 competing cities. Cities are judged on the merits of featured local collaboration projects, a ten minute presentation and a question-and-answer segment. The All-America City award is the nation's oldest civic award and is meant to recognize cities that work to excel in fields such as community collaboration, pride and economic development.
